A prayer inspired by John 11. Of David. October 13, 2021.
When life hurts and when my heart gets heavy,
When I am left confused and betrayed,
When I am wronged and anxiety tries to take hold of my peace,
Lord, come and see about me.
When Mary and Martha sent for You when their brother Lazarus was in need,
because You loved them so much You did not show up until it seemed too late. Why?
Because our lives are all for the glory of God.
Remind me that the pain and heartache I feel is tied with Your glory.
Remind me that when it seems like You are late it is because You want me to see Your glory.
But when You get here—-
Call my name, like Lazarus.
Tell me to come to You, like Lazarus.
Tell my sorrow and pain they’ve got to let me go, like Lazarus.
Restore me, like Lazarus.
Make me to rise like the morning sun, like Lazarus.
May what You are doing bring You glory, like Lazarus.
Amen.
